Background

In June 2025 our team was granted permission to analyze over 20 predynastic and early dynastic objects from the Brooklyn Museum's impressive collection.

We would like to thank the museum staff, including Kathy Zurek-Doule, Yekaterina Barbash, Morgan Moroney, Lisa Bruno, and Maribel Cosme-Vitagliani. The museum holds over 1,200 works of Egyptian art and is renowned for its renovation expertise.

Beginning in the mid 19th century, the museum's collection expanded through donations and acquisitions from the Abbott Collection (1837), the estate of Charles Edwin Wilbour (1916), the New York Historical Society (1937) and excavations beginning in 1906.
